NCFLBC log files for a Microsoft Exchange backup grow rapidly
Created: 25 Jan 2013 | 6 comments
Hello,
I have the Problem, that the NCFLBC log files for a Microsoft Exchange backup grow rapidly and create a low disk space condition on the client.
\NetBackup\bin\vxlogcfg -a -p 51216 -o 311 -s DebugLevel=0 brought no soulution.
Maybe there is a Registry Key ?
Thanks in advance!
Daniel

To my surprise vxlogcfg should resolve your issue. Do you mean after modifying logging levels LOG still grows with same rate???
Did you tried recycling services and checked after that if logs are growing with lesser increment in details!
Perhaps you should also look at andy's suggestion
Cheers !!!

And here's the TechNote version of Cap'n Jack's answer:
NCFLBC (NetBackup Client Framework Live Browse Client) log files for a Microsoft Exchange backup grow rapidly and create a low disk space condition on the client.

(Note to self: this TechNote needs some editing)
But...you said you already did this in your original post. Hmmm. I guess I too will advise you to open a support case.
EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it - you didn't tell us what version of NetBackup you're at. Is it possible you're not at 7.5.0.4? If so, is applying 7.5.0.4 an option?
I have seen this once before... try :
- stop NBU services on exchange
- install_path\VERITAS\netbackup\logs\51216-*-*.log
install_path\VERITAS\netbackup\bin\vxlogcfg -a -p 51216 -o Default -s DebugLevel=0 -s DiagnosticLevel=0
Or
install_path\VERITAS\netbackup\bin\vxlogcfg -a -p 51216 -o Default -s DebugLevel=0
- start NBU services
I think I've found the reoson for our problem.
The Option "Enable message-level cataloging when duplication Exchange images that use GRT" was enabled.
I've disabled the Option.
I will check the logs in a fiew days and will inform you, if that fixed our issue.
