This issue has been solved. See solution.
Solution: The following command will display the devices attached to NDMP host(s) and their serial number(s):
NetBackup version 5.X (and older):
UNIX/Linux: /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/set_ndmp_attr -probe <NDMP Hostname>
Windows: C:\Program Files\Veritas\volmgr\bin\set_ndmp_attr -probe <NDMP Hostname>
NetBackup version 6.0 (and later):
UNIX/Linux: /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpautoconf -probe <NDMP Hostname>
Windows: C:\Program Files\Veritas\volmgr\bin\tpautoconf -probe <NDMP Hostname>
I am using NBU 7.1
When i run the above command ,/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpautoconf -probe <NDMP Hostname>
I am getting no message.Command just ends with no error and no output.
My backup is going from NDMP to SAN media server which has OST.on disk
not on tape drive
Can i know the reason?

The command displays the drives directly attached to a filer.
I presume you do not have any drives attached directly to the ndmp device - therefore the command will not show anything.
Simple as that
