NDMP and multiplexing

We would like to have a NDMP device at my company. Since I am backup admin I have to prepare some technical docs. I have stucked on MPX feature.
I have read all NDMP related guides, compability lists etc and did not found any 100% sure statement that MPX is or is not working with NDMP policy type.
Do You have any idea if we can use MPX with NDMP policy type?
I would like to perform local backup (direct attach).
This is the backup server FC HBA, Tape Drive Library (its FC drives) and NDMP device will be connected through the same FC switch, appropriately zonned.
NBU master server will control Tape Library, NDMP device will see the tape drives (I would like to implement SSO), so data backup path would be:
NDMP disks -> FC SWITCH -> Tape drive (san backup)
and metadata will travell through the ethernet from NDMP device to NBU master server.
policy for this NDMP device would have enable multistreaming, and in schedules parameters I would set MPX factor to 4 (storage unit will have set MPX factor to 4 as well), backup selection list might looks as follow:

/dir1
/dir2
NEW_STREAM
/dir3
/dir4
NEW_STREAM
/dir5
/dir6
NEW_STREAM
/dir7
/dir8
The only thing is that I am not really sure if NBU for NDMP allows to have MPX!!

In short ...
You can have multi-streaming but not multiplexing. i.e. 4 streams going to 4 separate tape drives is possible, but not 4 streams going to the same tape drive.
So per your example: dir1/dir2 would go to one tape drive, dir3/dir4 to another etc. If, say, only 2 tape drives were available 2 jobs/streams would run as stated the others would queue.
***Edit***
An NDMP Storage unit type will not allow any multi-plexing anyway & neither will a schedule in an NDMP type policy (greyed out or non-existent)

Thank You for answering my question, but do You have this information somewhere in symantec's docs in writing?? You know the official statement that MPX is not allowed with NDMP devices.
Had a quick look...
... & can't find anything definitive (not even in the NDMP Admin Guide!), just the odd reference in a BUG report : "... Be aware that NDMP backups do not support the multiplexing feature..."
Think most of the other references I've seen have been forum posts & the like - but I'm sure someone out there's got a link some official documentation. :)
