Hi

Are there any issues with backing up NetApp deduplicated volumes via NBU 7.5 NDMP and going directly to Tape?

Is the data is hydrated by the NetApp before being written to tape?

many thanks

K

Format of NDMP backup depends on NAS vendor. In general, it is same with builtin dump command.

So it depends on NetApp whether NDMP backup data is rehydrated or not.I believe it will be rehydrated, but it is better to ask NetApp if data will be rehydrated in dump or NDMP.

Easiest way will be to kick off a backup to tape and see what happens.
I also believe that data will be rehydrated.
