Nilesh,
Is this the first time this NDMP server has been used?
Make sure that communication between the master and the NDMP server are working correctly.
tpautoconf -verify ndmp_host_name
download this PDF:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/280318.htm
Once you know that TCP is working ten try the hardware and configuration of the hardware.
It sounds to me that the tape drive is not configured correctly or is bad and needs to be replaced.
tpautoconf -verify ndmp_host_name
A successful verification looks like the following:
Connecting to host "stripes" as user "root"...
Waiting for connect notification message...
Opening session--attempting with NDMP protocol version 4...
Opening session--successful with NDMP protocol version 4
host supports MD5 authentication
Getting MD5 challenge from host...
Logging in using MD5 method...
Host info is:
host name "stripes"
os type "NetApp"
os version "NetApp Release 7.0.0.1"
host id "0033625811"
Login was successful
Host supports LOCAL backup/restore
Host supports 3-way backup/restore

Hi Dude,
Try replacing the media A00000. It seems to be faulty.

Hi Nitesh,
Please give the following information about your environment:
Filer make/model
Local NDMP/Remote NDMP (from your output, it looks to be local)
If local ndmp, Check the messages file on the filer and you will have a more clear and specific error logged in there
