  • 1.  Need to allow ports to be open for some servers, but they still aren't showing as being open

    Posted Jul 01, 2013 02:20 PM

We have made a firewall rule for some Sharepoint servers that need certain ports open. I can see the new policy is being pushed down the clients but when we test the servers to see if the port is open they are showing up as being closed. Is there anything that we are missing? Endpoint Manager and Client versions are 12.1.1101.401.

    Any help is greatly appreaciated.

What's showing in the Traffic log? Does it show the rule which is blocking the port(s) you need?

The Traffic Log was coming up with a rule called block all traffic and log. I unchecked that rule and it seems be to allowing some traffic from the sharepoint rule through although some ports are still showing up as being blocked. such as being closed such as 88, 389, and 443.

And you created new rules for the ports you need open and moved them to the top and it still does not work?

Yeah, The rule for these ports is on the top. I know that what ever is on top is suppose to take precedense over other rules.

    Yep, that's how it works.

I would double-check the rule to make sure it is correct and call support. That shouldn't be happening.
