Need Asset Management and Helpdesk software help

This issue has been solved. See solution.
Looking for a low-cost Asset Management, User lookup, and Helpdesk trouble-ticket software solution. We are currently using Numara Trackit, but it is getting too expensive and it's simply too buggy - they released a major bug fix, called it a new revision, and now want five figures for the upgrade. Time to call it a day and see what else we can come up with.
Network discovery and auditing a plus, but certainly not required - we mostly need to maintain a good trouble ticket management system and get away from the Excel spreadsheet we're currently using for Asset tracking. We're a Microsoft Office running office, so a slick Access Database would not be out of the question.

Web Help Desk
Web Help Desk has a Lite Edition that contains all of the ticket management features of Track-It. The Web Help Desk Pro Edition include Asset Management, Customer Satisfaction Surveying, Approval Workflow, Billing, etc.
What's more, the Asset Management in Web Help Desk has an SQL API to map fields from virtually any asset discovery solution, such as Altiris, Zenoss, LANDesk, Microsoft SMS / SCCM, Apple Remote Desktop, LANrev, etc.
It is quite the jewel and significantly less expensive than Track-It. I hope this helps.
There is also a Free Edition of Web Help Desk too...
All of the above are good
All of the above are good recommendations as far as what I have looked into as well. However, one aspect you might want to consider is the scope of your user base and the number of your assets. Whether it be "small-business" or "enterprise".
