    Hello all,

I have been in a fight with my GhostCast server for the past few weeks with attempting to add drivers to the WinPE Pre-OS boot file. I have followed the tutorial on this forum, with several attempts made to get the drivers to function so that their corresponding computers will be able to connect to the server and deploy/backup the image(s) for them. I have been unable to get any additional drivers to function, past how my WinPE is currently setup. I have attempted to add Lenovo, Dell and HP drivers with no success. Any advice/assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Just to verify, are the drivers that you are adding Windows Vista drivers? Ghost v11.5.x (Ghost Solution Suite 2.5) uses WinPE 2 as its preboot environment which requires Vista compliant drivers.

1027436 - Strange name - are you an android? ;-))

Anyway, joking aside, the fact that your version of GSS uses such an old version of WinPE that you still need to find Vista 32 bit drivers, caused one of our forum specialists to publish a couple of articles on how to "upgrade" to WinPE 3.x with GSS so that you can use Win 7 32 bit drivers. The two articles can be found here:

I do still require assistance. My appologies for the delayed response. I have followed this guide: https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH110136.html to add both network and sata drivers for computers. I just attempted it again with a Lenovo ThinkPad X120e. I get the laptop to boot to the PXE server, but it sits at the "Ghost32 11.5" screen waiting to join the session. I also have a file called pxe boot service.bat, which I do not understand. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction with solving this issue?

    Thanks!

Are you able to confirm that the laptop is connecting to the network? Can you for example successfully ping (or otherwise connect to) other machines on your network within WinPE?

Yes I am able to confirm that the laptop is connected to the network, it shows up within the DHCP management console within the server.

    1027436,

Please note that ianatkin said "within WinPE". Meaning after the machine boots to the WinPE environment, not just as a client within the console. Connecting and being seen within the console just means that it has network drivers for its production OS. Connecting within WinPE means that it has drivers imported that work in the preboot environment. I have a suspicion that your issue is that there are no Vista drivers for the cards on those machines. I would seriously consider upgrading to GSS3. The steps that EdT provided above are good but complex, and require a lot of time investment. ultimately, upgrading the softwrae is the best route.

    Thank you,
