Need to Change IP number and network for Site Server - Any Docs on this?

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I need to move a site server to a new network. It will change the IP number of the server. None of the services will change. Are there any documentation on changing the IP on a server and if there are any recommendations on doing this?

If you are updating the IP address of a site server, clients will continue to use DNS to do an IP lookup of the server's DNS name.  They will continue to execute tasks, run policies, and download packages.  If the site server has moved to a different functional site, make sure you move it to the new site in Site Maintenance in the console.  If the site server was a PXE server deploying images and running other tasks in automation and you were using IP Helpers, make sure you update those IP Helpers for the new IP address.

Does this answer your question?

MClemson, Thanks for the post, it was helpful to know that going in. You might want to add that if you have PXE Task and Package services on the box that they will need to have the PXE Services recreated. The server that moves to a new network still has PXE files that point to the old IP Address.

Thanks

Ken
