1) Make sure you have purchased and installed the necessary AVVI licence in the media server

2) Push out the remote agent to the vCenter machine

3) If everything is o.k., you should be able to see the vCenter machine in the selection screen when you create a backup job.

In the backup selection list, you should see a container for VMware vCenter and ESX Servers (provided the Agent for VMware license has been installed). Right-click on it & choose Manage VMware vCenter and ESX Servers. Add the vCenter.

See if you are now able to select the vCenter or not. If not, look for network connectivity, permissions of BESA etc.

See if this helps ~ http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...

Are you able to ping to the vCenter via IP & FQDN ?

Lastly, does the BESA have appropriate permissions per http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...

Alternatively, try using the root account & see if you add and connect to the ESX host.
