  • 1.  Need a comparision on SEP SBE Cloud and Enterprise

    All,

We have multiple SEP SBE onsite clients and we are in the process of migrating those to SEP SBE Cloud but there are a few clients who may benefit staying on premise so we are thinking of upgrading  to Enterprise edition.

    1.  Is there a recently update feature comparison between SEP Cloud and enterprise?

I found the following but it was last updated only in 2015.

    http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/feature-comparison-between-sep-121-sbe-sepcloud-and-ee

    2.  These are relatively small clients , less than 500 workstations and with multiple remote sites/branch office connected  via site to site VPN tunnels so should we gain anything by moving to enterprise?

    3. When it comes to securing the network, managing outbreaks (especially Ransomware type of infections) and controlling USB devices access does Enterprise has more features than SEP Cloud?

    Thanks,

    Dhanushka

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your qeury on Symantec community.

-->  I couldn't find anything other than you mentioned above. In Enterprise Product you will get all the features. Definitely those clients will be more benefited once they migrated from Small Business Edition to Enterprise Edition & it's a supported path as well.

Here you will find difference between Small Business on premises vs SEP on cloud.

    http://symantechelp.com/CS?locale=EN_US&vid=v102071047_v97203175&ProdId=SEPSBE2013&context=sepsbe2013

All the features listed above for Small Business Edition on premises will be available in Enterprise Edition plus you will get many other features as well.

-->  Group Update Proivder (GUP) can play important role to manage remotes sites/branch office clients. This feature is only available in Enterprise Edition.

    3. When it comes to securing the network, managing outbreaks (especially Ransomware type of infections) and controlling USB devices access does Enterprise has more features than SEP Cloud?

    --> Yes, at some extent.

Feel free to PM me if there is any other questions.

    Hi Chetan,

Thanks for your reply. For some reason I did not get any notifications stating that the post has been updated , thus the reason for the late reply.

I will talk with the management and see where they want to go.

    Regards,

    Dhanushka
