  • 1.  Need dministrator Priviledge to Running Endpoint Protection and constantly ask for restart

    Dear,

     

    I've installed Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 on windows 7 pro 32 bit. I notice recently system will ask for administrator priviledge just for run Symantec Endpoint GUI.

     

    And, I receive dialog box that ask for restart because endpoint was udpdated.

     

    any solution for those?

    Did you turn off UAC? I believe UAC causes this. Check this KB article:

    Windows User Account Control (UAC) prompts when opening the Endpoint Protection 12.1 client interface.

    Did you push an updated client?

    To turn off restart notification, go to Clients tab >> select a group >> Click Policies tab >> Select General Settings >> Check the Restart tab. Make the change here.

    The administrator privilege to open GUI will be by default if UAC is enabled and can apply both to standard as well as administrative users depending onthe UAC settings. There may be as well other restrictions not only inablity to start the GUI - have a look:
