  • 1.  Need to DOWNGRADE from 12.1.2100.2093 to 12.1.2015.2015

    When I try to install 12.1.2015.2015 onto an XP machine that already has 12.1.2100.2093 I get a message "A newer version is already installed" I know that. I want to install the older one. Anyone have any suggestions? This needs to be able to be automated since I have about 350 XP machines with the WRONG version of AV on them (broken teefer2.sys screws up SMB. ) and ABSOLUTELY need to install the older version. Thanks.

    It's not automated, unfortunately. You need to manually uninstall 12.1 RU2 MP1 and install 12.1 RU2.

    You're breakin' my heart. Is there a command line I can use to uninstall and cause an immediate reboot, since I can have the correct version installed on boot.

    Yes you can uninstall SEP on all the XP computers remotely using the SEPprep utility.

    Note: You need to configure in such a way that it remove SEP 12.1. Manuall configuration is must. Its a No Support tool from symantec. you need to try  at you own risk.

    Not in regards to using the SEPM or from trying to install a SEP client. There is just nothing available

    You can do it with some scripting. See here
