Need to export all archived data from Vault

Hi 
I have a customer that wants to export all the archived data from all the vaults. They are running EV 8 sp4.
They are archiving from Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003. They have dissuaded to export all the archived data back to the original mailboxes 
.
it's about 9000 mailboxes. What is the best way to tackle this problem. The reason is that they want to migrate to Exchange 2010 and don't want
to use Ev in the future. I have tried to convince them to upgrade to EV 10 first so that the Exchange migration would go smoother. But the just want to export all the archived data from the vaults. Is my only option to either use the export wizard in Ev 8 or a third party software (Shuttle)?

Export Archive from the VAC... (To PST or to the original mailbox)
OR
3rd party solutions, like ArchiveShuttle from QUADROtech, which can take you directly from EV to Exchange 2010.
