    Posted Oct 16, 2012 08:43 AM

    Good day all,

I'm trying to create a collection for a specific MS Lync 2010 patch (KB2540951) to determine whic computers have it and which don't. Clients are all windows 7 or (32 and 64 bit) or XP (32 bit).

This particular patch doe not have an entry in Programs and Features, it has an entry in installed updates, and I'm not sure how to go about telling Altiris to look there.

We are not currently using Altiris Patch Management and want to deploy the patch as a regular installer package. We're on Altiris NS 6.0.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    JS

Start by looking in Resource Explorer at the inventory showing the patch, from there you should be able to find out what table the data is held in.

The patch I'm looking for does not appear in any of the resources. In fact, my most recent patch listed in any resource is from July 2011. Ths patch I need is from April, 2012.

Install it manually on a test box, run inventory then see where it shows in the Inventory of that machine, the properties tab should give you the table name.

Have you tried creating a collection using a Resource Type query and a Filter hitting table Inv_AeX_OS_Updates and field "Patch ID" equal to KB2540951?  I'm not sure if this will give you the results that you desire but this is what I'd try in your situation.
