    Hello,

    We are running reports in Altiris 7.1 to show us what machines don't have an agent installed.  It looks like our database has a bunch of bad DNS entries in it.  We would like to remove these.

    We found an old post for Altiris 6.9 that shows settings for network discovery group.  Inside of this there is a box for circular DNS resolution.  We think this might be where altiris 7.1 is getting the bad records.

    How can I clear out these bad records?  I only really want to see machines that exist in AD.

    We just checked one of our machine names against DNS and it's not in DNS.  This same machine was built years ago and it has not been on the network or existed since.  It isn't in AD.  We have no idea where these old machines are coming from.

    I did an arp discovery to discover machines.  Why would a non existant machine this old be listed?
