    hi All,

Need to hit Alt+Ctrl+Del followed by enter key to enter my password

Here is what I'm trying to say.

    1. A user is logged in to their Windows 7 computer.

    2. The user locks their computer

    3. Ideally user unlocks their computer by pressing Alt+Ctrl+Del and enter password directly. But in my case in 3rd step user has to either click on User icon or hit one more time enter to get the password screen after hitting Alt+Ctrl+Del.

Does any one has any idea why is this happening?

Note: Encrypted win SED 10.3.2 MP7  also tried with MP9 & 10 same issue

This is default behavior when using Symantec Drive Encryption and Single Sign On. This was due to Changes in the Microsoft Credential Provider. The following article details more information

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for the update but in my case even though system is not PGP encrypted and only pgp installed still I'm getting same type of behaviour.

Also as per the artical shared by you if it's by design then why it's not reprodusable on all systems. I see this issue on few system where as on rest of then it just works normal though they are PGP encrypted.

    trustme1985,

It sounds like there is something interferring with the SSO filter driver which is installed by default. This might be another SSO driver for another application that is interferring with Symantec Drive Encryption SSO filter driver. I would attempt to uninstall and reinstalll the application and see if this fixes the behavior. If it doesn't then you can reinstall and remove the SSO filter driver. I'm attaching an article on how to turn off specific components within Symantec Encryption Desktop. You can turn off the SSO filter driver and it will fix this issue. Or you could contact Symantec Technical Support and log a ticket to have someone assist with troubleshooting this issue.

As for machines that don't require the enter or space button after the CRTL+ALT+DEL function and have SSO and Drive Encryption enabled. I would upgrade them to the latest version as they might be using an old version of PGP or there could be something interferring with the SSO filter driver. Since the designed behavior, with SSO enabled, is to require the CTRL+ALT+DEL and then enter. These machines are not working properly and need to either have SSO enabled for the user or another application is interferring with The Symantec Encryption Desktop SSO filter driver and needs to be troubleshoot and fixed.
