Need to install another driver on image

I've got an image for the lenovo T410. Just got a batch of new ones and there seems to be a new piece of hardware on them. I got the driver for this (its a setup.exe).

I tried to create a job.

boot to automation
Deploy Image
Apply system configuration (changes name)
Deploy driver (silent install) - This fails ?

If I log in and run a quick task to deploy this software it succeeds.

Any tips / better ways to do this appreciated.

Joe.

Credentials?

Are you trying to run the job outside of automation with account credentials of a user with administrative access to the computer?

Another workaround may be to use the Copy File task to copy the setup.exe to the machine then a run script task to run the setup with the silent switch as the system account.

OK - the copy file task

OK - the copy file task failed. Any other ways of doing this simple task?

Did it say why or how the copy files task failed?

You can use a script task to do almost the same thing, or a very simple SWD task.

Are you trying to deploy to a

Are you trying to deploy to a 'fresh hard drive', never before used?

Also, which version of NS are you using?

New Qualcomm driver

nope - we had a perfect image for a batch of T410 laptops. Just last week I took delivery of a new batch. Now a new driver is detected 'Quallcom Gobi'. I assume they've changed the modem or something on this model. anywho. I now need to install this new driver which wasn't on the build. I use the latest version of NS.

Did you remove the old

Did you remove the old [modem] drivers from the image?  Maybe there is a 'complication' in the device manager on theses newer laptops from an outdated/invalid driver?
