SEP11, in the admin, choose the servers, sql server, etc. and setup backups. Been doing this for years, works fine. Keep 2 backups, yesterdays, and todays. Each new backup deletes the oldest.
However, due to growth, need to increase log size and retention, etc. the backups have grown, and the C drive is filling up badly.
Need to move the backups FROM the c:\program files(x86)\symantec\symantec endpoint protection manager\data\backup
TO
D:\ etc etc etc\backup
Once you choose the server to backup to, however, there is NO CHOICE as to the location or path, or even drive! Is this locked - hard-coded, or can it hopefully be changed? If it is hard-coded and cannot be changed, we're xxxxx I guess.......... even if I use a scheduled script to later move the files each morning, there will not even be enough space on C to create the files to begin with! (edited for spelling, sorry)
Comment - if it's hard-coded, isn't that sort of "short-sighted"??? Didn't anyone figure the backups would grow, or that many companies keep data APART from OS and APPS?
please tell me it can be changed? Registry hack?
