    The last time we had an image, we installed SEP, and like 75 PC's had the SAME Hardware ID, so only ONE showed up as a managed client in SEP. Going back was a pain in the neck, I hade to make a few modifications in order to get it to work.

    We are doing this once again, and what I want to know, is how can we install SEP on these images WITHOUT it picking up the SAME ID. I want the PC's to be added, managed and have their own UNIQUE ID's.

    I would also DESPERATELY love to NOT put SEP 12.1.2015.2015 on these and put the NEWEST one on, when is the scheduled release for the next version?

    These will ALL be Windows 7 64 BIT PC's

    The latest version, SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1, came out two weeks ago. It is a maintenance patch so you need to be on RU2 first as it will only migrate over this version.

    An issue has been found though which only affects WinXP machines. The firewall is causing an extreme lag during file copies. I'm working with support on this. The thread is here:

    Shouldn't affect you since you're running all Win7 but still good to know.

    If at first I uninstall this as an UNMANAGED client, then copy a sylink.xml to it to make it a managed client, wouldn't I avoid this problem all together?

    Hello,

    Before creating the image, you can stop the smc service and remove the hardware ID file from registry.

    Create the cd in same way without str\artup the smc.

    When you install the image on system, service will auto start after first restart and make a new hardware id

    These above step we have done in our network using sccm and it succefully work.

    try it.

    Hi Bryan,

    The latest version, SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1, came out two weeks ago.

    Upgrade path would be SEP 11.x or SEP 12.1 --> SEP 12.1 RU2 --> SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1

    If planning to upgrade to RU3 then need to wait more couple of months.

    I am not following, I do not know what you mean when you say RU2 MP1, What I know is the version which I am running is 12.1.2015 2015

    RU2 MP1 is the latest 12.1 version. Came out two weeks ago.

    Just tried to install it and the user LOGGED the Machine OFF and Signed in killing the process, guess what, ROLLBACK CITY!!!!! Mammaaa Mee Ahhh!!!!

    It wasn't generated. I am not going to go crazy with this. I am having the onsite admin re image the machine.

    I am going to be asking a follow up question about "roll back" in a moment.

    Keep an eye out for it.
