    Hello,

    Try exporting and importing policies.

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/manually-alter-policies-managedunmanaged-computer#comment-3214121

    OR

You could try uninstalling the Network Threat Protection and restarting the machine.

Give these steps a try -

    1. Click Start Settings Control Panel Network Connections.
    2. Click a connection.
    3. In the dialog, click Properties.
    4. Select Teefer2 Driver and click Uninstall.
    5. You will need to repeat these steps for each Network Connection.
    6. Reboot the computer.

    Also delete - C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\teefer2.sys

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Teefer2

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/teefer2-miniport

    Hope that helps!!

You have a laptop with an A&DC policy to block all USB pendrives.  The user of the laptop now needs access to use pendirves, but cannot bring it back into the network to pick up the amended A&DC policy.

    Is this correct?

If so, please take a look at the below article on how to update policies on a client that is away from the network:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH95478

#EDIT# Oh and here's a forum thread on the SEP Client password:

...you'll likely have to contact Symantec Support as Chetan advises below.

I don't suppose you can get the end user to VPN into the network to update their SEP Policy can you?  That might be another way around it....

    Try the below step

    Start - Run
type smc -stop ( If it prompts for password; navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC, delete the smcexit key and then type smc -stop)

    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC
look for smcinstdata key; delete it

go to add/remove program and uninstall the client..
