Need Serial # to = Internal Serial # in the CMDB

This issue has been solved. See solution.

CMDB queries the internal Serial Number, I need the internal Serial Number to equal Serial Number so i can use the barcode scanner to update assets.

The first thing that you will want to do is enable the Inventory to Asset Syncronization task.  This task by design will update the Serial Number for you.

You find this task under Manage > Jobs and Tasks > System Jobs and Tasks > Service and Asset Managment > CMDB

Another option you can use is a CMDB rule which could do the same thing move data from the Internal Serial Number and copy it into the Serial Number table.   Here is a KB article that gives you an example of how to that as well:

Did this resolve the issue?  Typically you just need to enable the Inventory to Asset Synchronization task.
