Hello, I have started at a company and have inherited alot of software tools that they use and I this one I am not 100% familiar with
They have Ghost suite version 2.5
I was able to find out that the old support team had installed it but was not able to set up the ghost console. I did get that part working. Was able to get images across the network but we ran out of liscences for the clients as it only was the standard 5 liscences. We don't use the scheduled back up features at all.
Main problem is I think this software was overkill. Only reason this was purchased previously was to be able to set up a server that could host all the images of any PC we have. The server would be setup on it's own private LAN and we could just ghost each device after we "built" it and copy the image of each PC/Laptop to it in the event that if a PC died, we could just swap the image to a new PC of same hardware specs.
Can Ghost suite do what I need or is it overkill for our needs?
We are running a multitude of different hardware. 3-4 different main types of PCs, about same number of different laptops, Each with different types of NICs,
We are running the following OS on the PCs: Windows XP 32 bit all the way to Windows 7 64.
Ghost suite is installed on a server with Server 2003.
Thanks for any assistance. If there are any links people can post, I will def look at that first. Just couldn't find any (I'm sur ethey are out there, just so much to look at it's overwhelming)
