For details on upgrading from NetBackup 6.0 to 6.5, see Chapter 4: Upgrading NetBackup in the NetBackup 6.5 Installation Guides. These documents contain the requirements, upgrade steps and other information needed for a successful upgrade. At this time there is no separate document for upgrading a NetBackup 6.0 environment to NetBackup 6.5.

Can the Forum Administrators not post a link to the Upgrade Portal under 'Featured Discussions'??

Marianne, thanks for your suggestion. I shall make this post a sticky for all users looking for a similar solution in the future.
But, FYI, Symantec Connect has a wonderful Search feature enabled. Hence, it is recommended that the users first search to see if they can find a solution before they report a same question all over again. So, is true in this case as well.
That would be ok...
... if you could trust the search to actually find everything & I'm still not convinced of that! :(

v5.x support
v5.x support dates:
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/290017.htm
And, by my reckonning, v6.x enters EOSS phase around October 2010:
Version v6.x
Type MAJOR
Pack GA MP1 MP2 MP3 MP4 MP5 MP6 MP7 MP8
Released 03-Oct-05 22-Dec-05 27-Mar-06 29-Jun-06 20-Nov-06 06-Aug-07 27-Feb-08 23-Sep-08 ?
EOL begins 02-Apr-08
EOSS 01-Oct-10
EOPS 03-Oct-12
Where "EOL begins" means soonest of 30 months after GA release date, or actual GA release date of next higher major version - standard support continues.
Where "EOSS" means End Of Standard Support, partial support begins for typically 30 months - no new escalations to engineering.
Where "EOPS" means End Of Partial Support, i.e. all support ends - knowledge base typically available until GA + 10 years.
Are these dates correct?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "updates" but yes, the latest update to 6.5 is 6.5.5, and there is also version 7 that is out now.
