Currently running NBU 6.0 MP4 on Sun Solaris V240.  Having problems connecting to Windows NT client running NBU 3.4GA client due to status 25:  cannot connect on socket.  Hosts files on both backup server and client have been modified to include the other's name and IP address.  Backup server is able to ping the client and vice versa.

Can NBU 6.0 backup Windows NT clients?  If so, what other steps do I need to take?

Thanks in advance,

Window NT 6.0 is not supported under NetBackup 6.0. You can try to backup NT using 5.1 client and it may work but officially it's not supported.

Rakesh,

After upgrading the NT server backup client from 3.4 to 5.1, I am now able to backup the server using NBU 6.0.  Thank you very much for your assistance!

tip o' the hat to Rakesh.
This is why we need this forum so that even "officially" unsupported resolutions can be shared ;-)
