Netbackup 7.0 deduplication (unable to freeup disk space in media server)
Created: 24 Dec 2010 | 6 comments
Hi Friends,
I have configured NetBackup 7 native Dedupe in one of the Media server . My problem is i am unable to freeup the space , all the images are expired and only some images are left out which are very small in size.
Unfortunately we can't abel to add one more DISK in media server because as per the doc we can't able to add another disk pool . And unfortunatly we are unable to extend the disk too .
My NetBackup environment details is as fallows ,
Master server : NetBackup 7.0 , windows 2003 64 bit
Media server : NetBackup 7.0 , Windows 2008-R2
Is there any way to reclaim the space ? else need to destroy and recreate the whole .
Regards,
Rajesh

Did you run image cleanup?
I'm guessing you run your catalog on a regular basis, which does an image cleanup. If not, run one and that should take care of it.
You can also try to use the Catalog consistancy check: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...
I would recommend working with Symantec support if you find any issues. They can cleanup your database for you.
Yes Cindy, i run catalog
Yes Cindy, i run catalog backups regularly (daily once). Even i have tried the images cleanups ...
