NetBackup 7.5.0.5 (NetBackup 7.5 Maintenance Release 5) is now available!
(crossposted from the Netting Out NetBackup blog)
I'm very pleased to announce that the next Maintenance Release for NetBackup 7.5 is now available!
NetBackup 7.5.0.5 is the fifth maintenance release for NetBackup 7.5. It is a cumulative release containing fixes and content from 7.5.0.1 through 7.5.0.4. In addition, this release contains almost 400 additional fixes (bringing the total fixes in 7.5.0.5 to over 1100!) including the most commonly downloaded EEBs, several customer escalations, and internal engineering defects.
NetBackup 7.5.0.5 includes the following proliferations and enhancements:
- vSphere 5.1 Support - Consuming VDDK 5.0 U1
- VMware backup host is now supported on the following operating systems:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 x64
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 x64
- Bare Metal Restore is now supported on the following operating systems:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3
- Oracle Linux 5.7
- Oracle Linux 6.3

This is a MAINTENANCE Release for NetBackup (as opposed to a Release Update) - it can ONLY be applied on top of NetBackup 7.5. (If you are currently running 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.1, or 7.1.0.x, you will need to upgrade to 7.5 before you can apply 7.5.0.5.)
Please note that maintenance releases are CUMULATIVE - that means that 7.5.0.5 contains all product fixes included in 7.5.0.1, 7.5.0.2, 7.5.0.3 AND 7.5.0.4. If you are currently running NetBackup 7.5, you may apply the 7.5.0.5 maintenanace release without installing 7.5.0.1, 7.5.0.3 or 7.5.0.4. In fact, if you are still running NetBackup 7.5, we would HIGHLY encourage applying 7.5.0.5!

Anyone recieving error 13:
3/5/2013 1:35:59 PM - Error bpbrm(pid=19594) socket read failed: errno = 104 - Connection reset by peer
3/5/2013 1:35:59 PM - Info bpfis(pid=5968) done. status: 13: file read failed
After upgradeing to 7.5.0.5? I have what appears to be 6 machines that now will not backup.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client, Rebooted master and media server. Also created a brand new policy and i am still getting file read failed.
I can ping the client by name and ip from master and vice versa

Need some help with adding a media server. Loaded Netbackup 7.5.0.0, then 7.5.0.4, now 7.5.0.5. Trying to add more storage and backup capabilites by direct backup to a new server. Try to add as a storage unit, no luck. Try to add as a new media server and get server name not found in NetBackupo configuration. I have removed all old names, updated the registry, started and stopped the services and restarted. nbemmcmd - listhosts -verbose still shows an old server in the configuration file and I can find NO posts for fixing the configuration file other than registry entries. I'm trying to do simple disk to disjk backup, but this is killing me!

Thanks , thats great Link, i want that .
ok i will subscribe
Thanks. For a fresh new installation do I need to install the 7.5 Clients, or can install directly from the 7.5.0.5 clients (After I've installed and upgraded the master/media server)?. The client is on the same machine as the master/media in this case. I am asking since the client upgrade is as large as the version (Which is not the case for the media/master which is much smaller)
Gadi.
Any ideas on when 7.6 or 7.5.0.6 will be released? Server 2012, and exchange 2013 have been out for almost a year now and no support.
You can subscribe to : http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH150251 to be alerted when it is supported.
I belive the ETA for 7.5.0.6 is sometime this summer, however there has been no offical stament from Symantec as of yet.Currnelty 7.6 is out on beta. Please go to : https://symbeta.symantec.com/login.html
