NetBackup Client for HP-UX no space in /tmp
Environment is made up of the following:
A single Windows 2008 R2 Server running NetBackup Master 7.1 with no tape devices only Basic Disk Storage Unit
Two HP-UX 11.11 servers that will be clients to Master above.
If I run the install script as root locally (this is NOT a push install) for the NetBackup Clients for Unix directory it starts up fine and asks the name of the Master and if I want to use the hostname for the client name, etc, etc.
The PBX services installs just fine but then the install of the client aborts complaining that there is insufficient space in /tmp for the install and that approximately 449MB are required to complete.
The /tmp file system on these HP-UX servers are only 200MB in size.
I have no way of extending them.
Is it possible to make the NetBackup Client scripts set the TMPDIR to a directory other than /tmp ?
I modified the install script and *all* of the scripts in the HP9000-800 directory so that TMPDIR was intentionally set to another directory which has over 8Gb free but the installation continues to fail and complain about /tmp. It appears as if the changes to the script are ignored.
How can I get around this?
