Netbackup Desktop and Laptop Option v6.1 MP4 vs. Endpoint Protection

I've recently upgraded the Netbackup DLO server to v6.1 MP4 and have begun pushing out the new client upgrades out to PC's with Endpoint Protection installed (mixture of MP3/MP4).   During the install process, Endpoint Protection fails, re-configures, comes back on.   DLO has to be manually started or the PC rebooted to show up in the task tray.   I suspect that the newly integrated Live Update is the culprit as I am seeing the below event during the install of DLO.   Anybody else encountered this issue and found a workaround?

I won't have the resources to

I won't have the resources to do this for all of our laptops.   The bigger question is why these two Symantec products won't play nicely with each other.

Tenative Symantec-unapproved

Tenative Symantec-unapproved solution:

Remove the Live Update sub-directory from the DLO client install share created by the installation of the DLO server.   The netbackup client still installs without errors and registers itself with the Live Update utility installed by Endpoint protection.   After, running live update, it appears that Netbackup checks for updates (not sure if I would even have wanted that feature to begin with).
