Hi,

We are to provide a backup solution for Solaris containers. Each of the continers have more than 1TB of data to be backed up the option is to use Enterprise client in a non virtualized environment. According to avaiable documentation NetBakcup has limited support for tape media servers in Solaris Containers. Therefore the the option we are evaluating is to install the client + application agent on the container and to install a media server on the global zone. I would like to get this option validated.

Also what is the license requirement for this type of environment. Is it

1. Enterpirse Server + Client + App & DB Agent

Or

2. Enterpirse Server + App & DB Agent (As the client license is built into the Server license)

Mahesh

Please go through this

Please go through this doc:

Statement of Support for NetBackup 7.x in a Virtual Environment ( Virtualization Technologies ):   http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH127089

As Symantec partner, you also have access to Partnernet, right? Use the 'search' bar to locate the NBU Licensing Guide.

I agree with point 2:
Enterprise Server + App & DB Agent
