Do we need a hardware appliance or is there a virtual appliance option?

Can you give some details about the architecture and what is needed to protect a Vmware Virtual Machine on DAS?

You need a dedicated server.

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."

I want to know how RealTime protect RDM disk.

I'd assume you protect it like a physical server?  Stick agent in guest OS, and away you go.  That seems to be the RDM workaround everywhere.

Hi,

Yes it can protect both RDM and regular VMDK's. The only limitation is that the initial sync is done via the vmguest and not across the SAN (which makes it slower). This is being addressed and will be available in the next release.

You need an OpenVision to see the truth about Backups. Restores are a plus. But that's just Semantics ;)

ITs easy :)
