May I recommend the 7.x Upgrade portal

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH74584

SORT is also a valuable resource. You can run upgrade assessment in preparation for the upgrade. It also offers checks list and a EEB release auditor

https://sort.symantec.com/netbackup

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

The upgrade portal is an excellent source of information and best starting point.
You will see that that you can upgrade straight to 7.6.0.1 (which is the GA release for 7.6) and then patch.
The TN also contains a link to SORT and to the 7.6 Upgrade Guide which is a MUST READ.

For EEB's you would need to contact symantec support as they log that and make sure the EEB applies to your system. But if your just upgrading to 7.6.0.3, you should not need any EEB's.

It's funny you metioned how you wanted to sort this out. SORT (Symantec Operations Readiness Tools) was designed just for this propose by our enginiering teams. It will lay out upgrade path to get to 7.6.0.3 smiley
