Netbackup Volume Groups

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Ok so we have a lot of tapes since we can't delete data.  So I load 100 new tapes like normal inventory like normal.

Now when I go look at the Volume group I see a new Volume

Use to be

000_00001_TLD

---

000_00002_tld

000_00000_tld

Now there is a 001_00001_tld with all the new tapes in it?  How, and why did this happen?  Also is this going to change everything and I going to have to create new storage policys?

When I do a rebot invnetory I only see the 0.1.and 2.

Is there a limit of tapes in a Volume?

Thanks

Running windows server 2008 Rs

netbackup 7.5.0.6

Any new drives and/or media type in the environment? First 3 digits represents media type.

No new drive or Media.  LTO5 like always.  Nothing has changed just loaded 100 more tapes.  I have loaded 100 before this .

and that is strange because the 000_00000 is DLT old tapes

The

00001, and 00002 are LTO 5.

Once is a VL.

HU jus seen the Media type coma in different.  What the heck...

Tapes are all LTO 5 so they should have said HCART3

Some reason they came in as DLT?

Just wanted to add all tapes use a IBM lable it says LTO5 on them

If i log into my TS3310 Tape Library it says they are all LTO5.

Weird...

You will have to delete and re-add them.

Check all Advanced settings in Inventory screen - check Default media type, Barcode Rules, etc.

You may want to add a Barcode Rule. Or Default media type.
