Our customer is considering to install Symantec NAC Enforcer image on a server hardware different from the usual 6100 series appliance (the OEM appliance for the enforcer if I'm not mistaken is a Dell PowerEdge R200 server).

For example, they  will install Symantec NAC on an IBM System x3250 M3 server because the said server is much faster and much updated than the old 6100 series.

At this moment, they don't consider installing the Image on a virtual environment, unless it supports Hyper-V.

Will that be possible?

For your kind response please.

You can try and run it on that hardware, but it will not be supported.

The Enforcer is an Appliance, and is not meant to be run in a Virtual Environment.

did you mean by "not supported" is "not covered by warranty?" or "chances are it will not run as it must?"

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!

Correct me if I am wrong,

"not supported" means not tested nor validated by Symantec, so it can work or not but you cannot call the support team regarding any issue involving your specific configuration.

So if you have any problem, you're on your own....

Nonos is correct. Not supported, means that in some cases it will work, but no technical support can be offered.
