Network Adapters added in Device Control list

SAM_SHAIKH's picture

Hi,

We have added Network Adapters in block list of Application & Device Control .

After deploying the policy, we found that the users machines network card got disabled. Further we try deploying a new policy wherein we remove the Netwrok Adapters from the blocking list but the machines were not getting the policy .

Further I exported the policy in USB from SEPM and imported the same on the client and finally it worked.

Do we have any feature wherein if we block the Network ADapters centrally, it must get unblock from SEPM.

client not able to connect

Hi,

I think when you blocked the network adapters, the clients took the polices and they did their job
when you tried to enable it again, the clients are not able to connect to the manager to get the new policy what you set on the manager, are u able to ping the machine when network adapters are disabled, I guess it would be NO. So try making a new package push it out..with your policy
No connection with SEPM will not help clients to get the latest updates.

Hi Rafeeq, Infact if there in

Hi Rafeeq,

Infact if there in No connection with SEPM, it will not allow to deploy packages also on the client.

That's what i need to know whether we can enable or unblock the same from SEPM centrally or not.

nopes

once NIC is blocked..client will not receive any policy from SEPM or anybody else.
So the solution you selected for resolving this issue ( copying the policy file to USB ) is the best resolution in this case..

Why are you planing to block

Why are you planing to block your NIC, if NIC disabled how can you make an access to your network? if you plan to restrict the application or make an additional security, I suggest that you make use of other product like SNAC (Symantec Network Access Control) to control an endpoint compliance.

its all blocked now

Once the clients got the policy the network  got disconnected
so no way you gonna do something centrally, coz none  are communicating
if you want to withdraw the policy you can do that in the console
go to policy tab-click on application and device control policy
at the bottom below task you can select the option withdraw the policy
once you have modifed you can apply it, ( this does not apply to the problem u r facing , no connections now )
