Our envirnoment uses two different SNMP community strings. One for Infrastructure devices and another for other devices. The original idea was to scan the same range with two separate Scans using the different community strings. I'm finding the scans keep changing the devices types. One scan recognizes a printer and classifies properly while the other scan doesn't recognize it and changes it back to a computer.
Can anyone share their experience with Inventory for Network Devices and having multiple community strings? We have thousands of devices and redoing the community strings to one string is never going to happen. The groups that controls the devices do not want a common string and simply don't have the time to redo them.
