Network Drivers for Ghost 15 Custom Recovery on XPS 15z

Created: 27 Jul 2013 | 1 comment

I'm trying to create a Ghost custom recovery disk for my Dell XPS 15z.

I've included 32 bit Win7 drivers for the Atheros GBe network and Intel 6230 wireless, but when I boot, start networking services, and try to map a network drive, it says it cannot get the network hardware.

Which drivers are needed to access the network from the Ghost boot?

Please refer to the sticky posting at the top of this forum for links to the Norton Community, as Ghost 15 is the retail Norton product, and this forum supports Ghost Solution Suite, a corporate product based on different core technology.

Assuming your custom recovery disk is based on WinPE, don't bother with wireless drivers as WinPE cannot support them - only a full windows operating system can support wireless.  If you are using WinPE V2 (ie does the startup look like Vista?) then you need to add Vista 32 bit drivers, as you need drivers appropriate to WinPE and NOT the operating system you are trying to image.

If your issue has been solved, please use the "Mark as Solution" link on the most relevant thread.
