Network Drives

Created: 28 Feb 2008 • Updated: 25 May 2010 | 2 comments
Hi, we are currently installing V11.0.1000.1375 and clients no longer have access to a network drive.
The error message says the name is already in use.
Could any one provide some help please?

I got the same thing. I saw that we can turn off Network Threat option, and it works again. But when run logoff - logon again, the network drives do not work.
I htought some one in Symantec could help us, but nobody shows give importance.

If these are unmanaged installs, go into the GUI on each system and Change Settings for Network Threat.  On the   Firewall tab you want to uncheck the setting that start with "block all traffic until the firewall starts".  Under the Microsoft Windows Networksing tab make certain that "browse files..." and possibly "Share my files..." are checked.  There are also other settings in this area you might want to test.

If a managed install, go to your SEPM server console and configure your firewall policy to allow the traffic you want to be able to pass.

This is for the most part a user-to-user forum.  A small number of Symantec employees give of their own time to help here as they find time to do so, but they won't see every posting.  If you require the attentions of a Symantec employee, you need to file a support case.  http://www.symantec.com/business/support/contact_techsupp.jsp?pid=54619
