Hi I wonder someone could give me some advice.

we have about 50 sites around the country and have just started updating our xp/2000 clients from corp edition 10.2 to the latest version of endpoint however we have noticed that the speed of the network after the install slows down to such a level that the clients cant use rdp and other network based apps that we rely on.

as a quick example before the installation ping responses before the install was about 30/35ms.  however after installation the ping responses jump to about 4000ms.
and stays like this for a few hours.

i know the slow down is to do with the latest defs being pulled across and have inserted the latest defs into the install package but cannot find downloads for network threat and proactive threat.

is there a way that we can either do the install and postpone any updates until later in the day or maybe change the amount of clients that are getting updated at the same time.

    any suggestion would be helpful..

    thankyou

    Hi,

Regarding the slow ping response, symantec is currently investigating the issue. Below is the supporting document for the same.

In order to avoid the traffic on the network you can create a package with the latest defnitions so that the client when registers itself with the manager for the first time it will not try to download the definitions from the manager which will aviod the newtork traffic.

Kindly follow the document below which will help you to create the client install package with latest defnitions.
