The “Network Threat Protection” ribbon is missing from my Symantec window.  I am using Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.1. This issue is occurring with the five new Windows 7 PCs I added to the network.  The 20 existing Windows XP PCs are still displaying the “Network Threat Protection” ribbon as they should.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Symantec via Remote Push Installation from the Server PC.  I repaired the installation using Add/Remove Programs, and if I go to modify using Add/Remove Programs it appears as if the “Network Threat Protection” is installed.  I used the command prompt to unregister and re-register the smcgui.exe file.  I restarted the PC between each attempt.  Screenshots are attached.   Are my new PCs currently protected? Please help!

    Screenshots of results are attached.

It says Symantec is not the most current version.  This troubles me because my PC support people were here 12/28/11 and were supposed to up date.  They gave me the disc and license for Version 12.1.  I'm not sure how this process works, but is it possible to enter the licensing infomation and not update.  Do I need to update the software on the Server PC manually?

    Hello,

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.0 could not migrated simply by Installing the License.

You would have to Migrate the Symantec Protection Center first to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager SBE 12.1and then the SEP SBE Clients 12.0 to the Latest SEP SBE Clients 12.1

To understand if the DVD provided is meant for which versions, you can browse the DVD and you would see a text file "versions.txt", which would state the version number of the software.

I would request you to use the Migration Procedure provided in the Article below:

Upgrading or migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.1000 (RU1)

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH174545

Installation and Migration Documents for Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH163707

    Hope that helps!!

    Hi Charista,

Second attached screenshot says "The version on the system is Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.0 (12.0.122.192)"

Client is not upgraded, upgrade clients to the latest version i.e SEP SBE 12.1 RU1

If remote push is not working, try to locally upgrade SEP client.

As per your question "Are my new PCs currently protected?"

--> Yes, they are protected as far as they are receiving latest definitions .We can see SEP clients are showing 27th Jan'12. Try to run manually live-update on affected systems.

However upgrade will be the best option

Check following article for more details about upgrade.
