Network threat protection - task tray says broken, application says is fine

We've started seeing this at our company a few times this week -- the green dot on the shield turns red, and the task tray icon reports that Network Threat Protection isn't working. However, if you double-click the shield and check out the application console, it says all components are fine, with green dots and checkmarks everywhere.

When it happened to me a few days ago it stayed like that for most of a day and then the task tray fixed itself, going back to the green dot.

Unfortunately it appears to be concerning to users, who contact us asking about it. (I think there's an actual bubble popup warning, even, which gets their attention.) Even though it appears that the client itself is fine, and it's just the task tray icon that's confused, nobody likes to see alerts telling them their antivirus protection is broken.

Anyone seen anything like this? Know how to fix it?

Our SEPM is 11.0.5. We've got a mix of clients, ranging from 11.0.3 to 11.0.5. Mine is MR5, not sure about the others that have seen this.

Once repair the client from add/remove programs and see what is the result...
