new agents install, getting HTTP error: 404 Not Found

Greetings All,

i did a push to install the altiris agent, and then other agents..software delivery agent, software update agent,..etc  the altiris agent seem to install but the other agents are not able to install, but the SWD application Inventory agent did download but failed to start . all the other agents i'm getting this type of error.

i have access to the console, the account that is used to push out the agents is fine and does have access to the client computer

any advice?
Oh-- the client computer is  running xp pro sp3, office suite, plus a few others. the user signed in, has local admin rights on the laptop

It looks like a codebase issue

 Hi Redfox,

I think you posted the question to the wrong forum. It should go to the NS forum section.

It looks like your client computers are connecting to the NS without problem, hence the computer have a valid policy and are trying to download package.

So the problem seem to be coming from the package codebase (download source for the agent) received from NS. Either it could be pointing to a name that doesn't resolve in your DNS for the site or it could be a misconfiguration of the NSPreferedHost in coresettings.config.

You should be able to get all the interesting details in the xml files with the target SWD folder, under "%programfiles\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Software Delivery\<package_guid_here>".
