New computers not added to deployment console
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 5 comments
In the last week I have built three different models of thin clients and none of the units have showed up in deployment console. We have Deployment Console 6.9 SP1 and has been working fine until I noticed this problem last week. On each thin client when I do a aclient.exe -admin they have the proper server in address\hostname field. What do I need to do to troubleshoot?

Status of Aclient
What is the status of the AClient. If it is connecting properly, it should say "Client Record Updated". If not, you may have a port blocked either via the OS firewall or at the server for inbound traffic.

My bet is windows firewall
My bet is windows firewall also. Seen that specially with new machines that did not get our group policy.
did you try going to the About Altiris Agent and "update configuartion" and "Send basic inventory"
Those usually help me.
By default we have the icon
By default we have the icon hidden on thin clients for Altiris Client Service. On one of the machines I built I turned it on and the message you get is Connection Closed. Session terminated. I am not aware of any changes to this server.
The windows firewall on the
The windows firewall on the server the deployment console application resides on is disabled.
What I found was three
What I found was three Altiris services on the server the console is installed on was using a userid\password and the password must have changed. I will change this to use an account that does not expire. Thanks everyone for your time.
