New Dell Latitude XT not seen by Deployment Console

We are a school district trying to image new Dell D630 laptops and some Dell Latitude XT tablets. When we plug a D630 to the network it shows up in the Deployment Console so we can image it.

The Dell Latitide XTs will not show up in Deployment Console.

Both the D630s and the XTs have XP as the OS and they have the exact same NIC (Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller).

PXE is Linux Managed. The Latitide XT is getting an IP#. It stalls for a very long time on the 'Uncompressing Linux....OK, booting the kernel' line. It eventually says 'Please wait while Altiris Linux x86 PXE boots.'

Then it gives lots of error messages. The first line is ' Error connecting IPv4 socket. and Mount error 101 - network unreachable. Further down the screen it says 'Warning: no express mount found'.

How do we get Deployment Console to see the XTs.
We are new to Altiris. I have checked forms and KBs but cannot find an answer. Using DS 6.9 - 176

Dual?

not sure about this but do you have two nic's? One cable and one wireless? could be it's pxe on the cable then tries on the wireless and fails. disable the wireless in the bios ?

Any word on this issue?

Have you found a resolution to this issue as yet? I have a similar issue while attempting to boot XT's to production using CD version of automation partition and am anxious to get these guys imaged ASAP. Thanks.

No, we still cannot recognize

No, we still cannot recognize the XTs. However, we just got some Dell desktops that we cannot image. We have discovered that the NIC and HD drivers need to be added to Linux. First attempts to add the drivers did not work. We have sent one of the machines to Provo. (Altiris Tech Support).

My guess on the XTs is that although they have the same NIC model as other computers on our system they require a special NIC driver for Linux.
