Hi
Please see if it is listed in HCL for BE 12.5
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH62114
Additionlally ensure BE 12.5 is fully patched with sp4 & all updates and Also please ensure you have installed on Symantec drivers for the tape drive and Medium changer is Unknown medium changer
Once done try doing a Power cycle of your server and library and then wait for the library to be intialized by powering it on & once done start the Media server and check
Thanks

Don't forget to give a "Thumbs Up" or Mark as "Solution" if someones advice has helped you.
1) Check the HCL below to make sure that the new library is supported.
Backup Exec 12.5 Hardware (HCL)
2) Make sure that all the HP Insight services are turned off.
3) In the Wndows Device Manager, the library should appear as an Unknown Medium Changer with a Microsoft driver and the tape drive should have a Symantec driver.
In addition to above,
Pls ensure BE 12.5 is fully patched...and see if this KB applies ~ http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH126625
Hello All,
Thank you for your support, appriciated.
The hardware is compatable (HP StorageWorks 1/8 G2 LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 SAS Tape Autoloader ) and the device manager appear as known device (HP Autoloader eg),
All the patches are updates unfortunalty not working, i'm planning to reinstall the HP driver but it required a reboot and i can do only in week ends because its live server.
In the Windows Device manager, the library should appear as an Unknown Medium Changer with a Microsoft driver and the tape drive should have a Symantec driver.
Make sure to have this patch installed:

It's listed in the HCL as required for this device.
If this response answers your concern, please mark it as a "solution"
...depending on your OS, you'd have Removable Storage service installed. If this is running, then BE clashes with this service in accessing the backup device.
Best bet then is to stop and disable the RSM service, restart the BE services and try again!
Thanks!

Hello All,
After reinstalling the exec and drivers, its working now, Thanks for help and support.
Hi All,
im sorry for last reply! but still its not working as expected, the job still going to que and nothing happend.
appreciate your support and advice.
Run a repair of BE 12.5 through Add/Remove Programs; check and make sure that RSM is stopped & disabled.
Also, create a B2D and run a backup to that to see if it queues...if it does, then the problem lies with BE itself.
You should also consider completely removing the autoloader from WIndows & BE and restarting the server before installing the SYmantec drivers.
Thanks!
