New SAV Corp 10 Installation wont join existing server group

    Hey All,

When installing a new server sometimes its unable to contact the primary server, and creates a secondary server group with a duplicate name ie "ServerGroup(2)".
Then I am unable to move the server back into the existing group, either by drag n drop or by changing the registry entries on the machine itself.

I get the message "Symantec system console was unable to contact xxxx server"

But it must be able to contact the server if I can see the server in the console?

I have tried installing on the server using a completely different server group name, then trying to move it, but again, same message.

How can I move the server into the group it should be in?

OK, more info for you guys.

I can ping the primary server from the secondary with the issue.

I can file browse the primary from the secondary.

    Firewalls arent the issue
    ACL's arent the issue.

Cant drag and drop the server into new group.
Cant change the registry on the DC to reflect the new group. Just creates a duplicate group.

I have even reset HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Intel\LanDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\ScSComms\LocalData\ "LoginCaCertIssueSerialNum" value to a "1".

    Nothing is working.

Someone must have see and cured this problem before?
