New to SEP, a few questions
I've recently started a new position where my responsibilities include managing our SEP server. From what I gather, this product was put in place some time ago as a hurried fix to an infection that our previous AV software couldn't clear. As such, there's not a lot of understanding of what SEP can do or how to get the most out of it. Beyond reading through the help files, is there a tutorial or detailed feature description online that could help introduce me to the potential of this product? Maybe a Best Practices list?
Also, When I run the deployment wizard, it doesn't seem like there is a way to create an updated package for an existing group. I tried typing the existing group name in (i.e. Workstations), but that ended up creating a seperate Workstations group in SEPM rather than just applying that package to the existing group. Are the packages not supposed to be updated periodically to include the newest version of the client and defenitions?
That's all I can think of at the moment. I'll continue reading through some of the forum threads here and hopefully get a better understanding of things.
Thanks!

Thanks for all the information, I think I'm getting a grasp on the product now.
I did try the steps to export a client install package, but I don't see anywhere in the process to specify if it is for 32bit or 64 bit clients. Does the single EXE created contain both versions, or am I missing something along the way?
Nevermind, I see that in the right side pane of the window it lists both versions, you have to click on each one to see in the lower right pane whether it is the 32 or 64. Depending on which you have selected, it uses that as the source for the new package.

Here is some free training
Here is some free training information online for the SEP product as well:

I would also highly suggest browsing through the PDFs included with the software CD (or download) in the "documentation" folder, as well as the Help file database in the software itself (though it does already sound like you are doing so).
