New SQL Instance for BE12

I'm running BE12 on an SBS 2003 SP2 server.  Every evening when the standard BE database maintenance utility runs to check for consistency and create the standard database dump/backup, I get errors.  I have tried to install SP1, but it always rolls-back the upgrade near the end when it's performing the database dump, I guess.  Oddly enough, my jobs are all running fine using several different agents and options.  I have used the BE Utility to perform manual database checks and dumps and they all end in errors.

Is there a way to create a new SQL 2005 embedded instance for BE and just start from fresh?  I don't have many jobs to create and I don't care about the history at this point.  After this, I think I'll be able to install SP1.

Thanks for any suggestions.
