I just found a virus on an Apple iPhone that scanned our user list and did about 50 login attempts per user. They found a weak passowrd and successfully logged in. They logged in through the iPhone to launch attack.

Can the virus be detected and quarantined or blocked before initialization?

    Hello MrIT-422,

Currently we do not offer an AntiVirus product for the iPhone.  Do you run any of our security software on the network that was compromised?  If so, I would ask you to open a case with us so we can review the information you have collected in more detail to determine if any of the products you are running should have been expected to detect the intrusion.

There are currently no known spyware or virus exploits for the iPhone....so just connect the mobile to the system and scan it properly with latest updated antivirus....if it doesnt work just make a report to the symantec......they will definately find the defination of that virus and will update soon......plzzzz keep patience........and dont worry mobile virus are not much dangerous to system.......

I have a question wouldn't the iphone be safe if you sync it on the pc and then run the antivirus scan on the device?

    yes Gizzle,

mobile viruses and pc viruses are different, generally pc virus is nothing but .vbs script and phone virus is symbian C script or malicious Java program........so it does nt matter if we connect infected phone to PC or vice-versa

Mobile viruses are not risky enough to affect  pc. You should connect your iphone to pc & scan it.
