This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi All,

I cannot do the push installation and also auto upgrade of SEP client v 12.1 RU1 MP1 into the Workstation which has been installed as Windows XP 32 bit and now re-installed with Windows 7 x64 SP1.

from the SEPM server the ping doesn't reply back but the PC is now online, the previous entry in SEPM is still there same name and IP address but appears as offline (due to no SEP client at all) ?

Hm.. I guess by default, Windows Firewall is ON and then UAC as well, so that is so annoying that I must go to hundreds of that workstation to turn off the Firewall and UAC in all of those workstations ?

Can you post the SEP_INST.log from one of the clients it fails on? Or is the install not even getting to the client?

Brian, the client doesn't show up anything ? even ping is not replying.

I guess I need to tourn off the firewall manually in those client workstation ?

Turn off the firewall in one as a test and try again. With no ping response, it sounds like the client fw is actively blocking. You can do a GPO to disable the windows firewall if this is the case.

it is now installing from the push install wizard :-)

I'll just have to wait until all of the firewall has been turned off in all workstation.
